DEPARTURE APPROACHES

What a mighty God we have the privilege of serving in Peru. Our excitement is mounting as our departure approaches...for we know that we are in store for a life-changing experience. We pray that many lives affected by disability will be rescued from darkness and brought into the kingdom of God.

Our team is sure to enjoy the unique Peruvian culture and our dear Peruvian brothers and sisters in Christ. Our partnership with the disability ministry, Corazones Unidos (“Hearts United with the disabled”), has been very instrumental in the success of WFTW distributions in Peru since the first outreach in 2000. They have been doing all the in-country preparation for our arrival and are facilitating the involvement and follow-up by local Christ-honoring churches. In Trujillo alone, they anticipate we will be joining 75 other volunteers from several different churches. The same will be true at the distributions in Arequipa and Lima. You can see the Corazones Unidos website at www.corazonesunidis.org.

We anticipate a very full schedule arriving in Lima, Peru late Friday night, November 2nd after a full day of airline travel. First thing Saturday morning will be breakfast and orientation. That afternoon we fly to Trujillo. We could use your prayers for leniency with AeroCondor to permit all our supplies that may be over the baggage weight limit.

Sunday morning we will attend two church services. That afternoon we will begin cleaning and sorting the 150 wheelchairs. Monday will be a day of preparation and training volunteers. Tuesday through Friday will be full days of wheelchair fitting and distribution starting and ending with grand celebrations in Peruvian style. Saturday, November 10th we will debrief and do some shopping before flying home through the night.

Please pray that God would flow through us and clearly reveal Himself to many needy souls...for His glory alone.
